Each year, the African American Book Festival creates a literary extravaganza celebrating African American contributions to books, literature, literacy, and literary culture. In 2025, more than 2,000 people attended this festival, transforming Diversity Richmond into a bustling marketplace for authors, publishers, and bookstores. FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, attendees can expect engaging conversations, book signings, food trucks, music, entertainment, freebies and giveaways, workshops, and opportunities to connect with fellow literature enthusiasts.

AUTHORS

Meet award-winning and best-selling authors, locally and nationally, who will share insights and experiences at our upcoming event.

EXHIBITORS

Between 75 -100 vendors, including authors, publishers, and bookstores - locally and regionally - connect directly with fans and new readers at the festival each year.
